Eleanor Sanchez Meyer, our founder and CEO, launched matty m. in 2002 with a clear purpose: to create clothing that truly supported women in their everyday lives. Shortly after the birth of her son Matthew, while balancing the demands of work and motherhood, Eleanor realized her wardrobe was missing something. She needed clothing that was comfortable, flattering, and versatile enough to move with her through each and every season of life.
She wasn’t alone. So many women were looking for the same thing, timeless styles that felt just as good as they looked. Pieces that could be worn again and again, year after year, without ever feeling dated or difficult to wear. Your favorite pieces that you would never throw out.
With just $4,000 and a vision, Eleanor began building matty m. as a brand created by women, for women. She designed each style with real life in mind, blending ease and elegance in every piece. From day one, quality, durability, and thoughtful design have been the foundation of everything we create.
What began as a small, personal mission has grown into a beloved name in effortless style, carried in thousands of specialty boutiques, major department stores, and online retailers across the country.
